Underground Grace is a trauma-informed, community-rooted support network serving youth, young adults, and families across Berkshire, Franklin, Western, and Eastern Massachusetts. We focus on individuals facing instability, poverty, disability, immigration or refugee transition, and court or system involvement. Whether someone is a high school student with an IEP, a young parent seeking a career path, or a returning citizen trying to rebuild, we provide direct, personalized support. By 2026, we plan to expand our programs throughout New England.
We specialize in helping people discover what's next. Underground Grace offers one-on-one career exploration, job readiness training, resume and interview support, and soft skills development. We guide participants through college applications, trade school enrollment, military pathways, apprenticeships, and entry-level employment. For those unsure of their path, we begin with hands-on assessments and coaching rooted in real-life goals. We also collaborate with Job Corps, WIOA programs, and MRC to provide aligned referrals and case support.
Healing comes first. Our trauma-informed team provides access to emotional support, coping strategies, peer groups, and crisis stabilization referrals. For clients struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, grief, or fear, we offer safety, trust, and long-term stability planning. We address both the emotional and logistical needs of each client, helping them rebuild from the inside out.
We prepare participants for sustainable employment and partner with employers committed to equitable hiring. Our clients are connected to inclusive job fairs, short-term credentialing, and on-the-job learning. We build bridges between potential, training, and placement. Employers who work with us benefit from job-ready candidates and a dedicated support team focused on retention.
Underground Grace is actively engaged in neighborhood-based violence prevention and substance use education. Our teams provide culturally responsive gun violence intervention for teens and young adults through conflict mediation, mentorship, and restorative practice. We also offer opioid prevention and awareness programming, combining harm reduction education with access to mental health, housing, and employment resources. These programs target communities most impacted by trauma and generational disadvantage.
We work closely with family courts, juvenile justice programs, DCF, DYS, probation officers, and shelters to stabilize the lives of at-risk youth and adults. Our transitional services include help securing housing, obtaining IDs, navigating transportation, enrolling in school or training, and creating personalized service plans. We are one of few programs that understand the urgency, accountability, and holistic needs of justice-involved individuals.
We are committed to protecting the health and dignity of Black, Indigenous, and other marginalized women and birthing individuals across Massachusetts. Through our Perinatal Health Initiative, we provide advocacy, education, and linkage to services for those navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum challenges. This includes support for teen mothers, system-involved women, and those experiencing housing or food insecurity. We advocate for safe, equitable care before, during, and after pregnancy—partnering with doulas, community health workers, and public health organizations to amplify voice and improve outcomes.
Our Hygiene & Emergency Resource Room offers walk-in access to everyday necessities: clean clothing, hygiene supplies, period care products, quick meals, bottled water, and resource guidance. It’s a lifeline for those experiencing homelessness, violence, family breakdown, or unexpected hardship.
Underground Grace offers workshops and mentorship that teach public speaking, decision-making, personal responsibility, and emotional control. Through culturally relevant scenarios, role-playing, and peer discussions, we help clients build their voice, set boundaries, and find power in their personal story. These workshops are available to schools, shelters, and juvenile justice programs throughout the region.
We are happy to accept and welcome referrals from community service organizations, local schools, housing agencies, courts, and trusted community organizations. Our services are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and disability-inclusive.
In 2025, we will launch mobile response services to bring job training, hygiene kits, peer support, and stabilization services directly into high-need neighborhoods in Springfield, Pittsfield, Holyoke, and beyond. These pop-up sites will serve as lifelines for youth and families experiencing crises or disconnection.
